Yes, you may request a formal review of an assessment mark or grade, but only under the following circumstances.
- Your work was not assessed according to the criteria outlined in the subject outline
- A technical error occurred in marking or in the calculation of marks
- You believe there was bias on the part of the marker
Reviews are not available if your grade has already undergone formal moderation.
Step 1: Ask your lecturer first
Within 3 business days of receiving your assessment result, you must first ask your marking lecturer for an explanation of your mark or grade.
Step 2: Submit a formal review request
If you are not satisfied with the lecturer’s explanation, you may submit a Review of an Assessment Grade Application Form within 10 business days of receiving your mark.
Your application must include:
-
Your full name, student number, and contact details
- The grounds for your request
- Specific issues to be addressed
- Supporting evidence (e.g., extracts from your assessment, documents)
- The resolution you are seeking
Important note
If your circumstances relate to illness, hardship, or other compassionate and compelling reasons, please apply for Special Consideration instead.
