Can I Request for An Extension to Submit My Assignment?

If unexpected circumstances prevent you from submitting an assessment on time, you may be eligible for an extension through a Special Consideration request. Extensions are approved only for compassionate or compelling reasons supported by evidence, such as illness or a personal emergency. Submit your application as early as possible—ideally before the due date—to give Ikon time to assess it and avoid late penalties.

Important notes

• Apply before the due date whenever possible. Late requests are only considered in exceptional cases.
• Applications are usually processed within 2 business days.
• Extensions do not apply to Applied Learning Tasks, which must be completed during class time.
• Until your extension is approved, you remain responsible for submitting by the original due date to avoid late penalties.
