If you are enrolled in a nested program, you may have the option to exit early and receive a lower qualification. Nested programs are structured as a series of sequential courses leading to qualifications at different levels within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). For example:
- Students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education might choose to exit early with a Diploma.
- Students enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Therapy or Counselling and Psychotherapy might choose to exit early with an Associate Degree or Diploma.
Once you exit early, re-enrolment into the higher qualification is restricted for 12 months unless a special exemption is granted by the Registrar.
For International Students, approval for an early exit is required and is granted only under compassionate or compelling circumstances. Before proceeding, it is strongly recommended that you consult from your Education Agent or the Department of Home Affairs to understand how withdrawing may impact your Student Visa.
For more information, please refer to the Enrolment Policy and What are compelling and compassionate circumstances?
