Can I Request for A Remark of An Assessment?

If you believe your assessment mark or grade is incorrect, you can request a review. First, discuss your result informally with your lecturer within 3 business days of receiving it. If the concern isn’t resolved, you may lodge a formal request within 10 business days. A review may result in your grade increasing, decreasing, or remaining the same.

Before you start

  • Review the Assessment Policy.
  • Contact your lecturer within 3 business days of receiving your mark to seek clarification.
  • You may proceed only if the concern remains unresolved after the informal discussion.

Eligibility
You may submit a formal remark request only if:

  • The informal step has been completed.
  • Your request is based on one of the following:
    • The assessment wasn’t marked in accordance with published criteria.
    • A technical or administrative error occurred in marking or mark collation.
    • There was bias on the part of the marker.

Important information

  • Requests must be submitted within 10 business days of receiving your mark.
  • Incomplete submissions won’t be processed.
  • A review may result in your grade being increased, decreased, or unchanged.
  • Applications based on workload, financial hardship, or comparison with other students won’t be considered.
  • You’ll receive the outcome via email within 3 business days.
  • If you disagree with the result, you can appeal under the Grievance & Appeals Policy within 10 business days.
