If you believe your assessment result was not marked accurately or fairly, you can apply for a formal review of your grade after first discussing it with your lecturer. 

Before applying, review the following:

Before you start

  • Ensure you have completed the informal review step by contacting your lecturer within 3 business days of receiving your result.
  • Confirm that your concern relates to one or more of the following valid grounds:
    • The assessment wasn’t marked in accordance with published criteria.
    • A technical or administrative error occurred in marking or collation.
    • There was bias or prejudice on the part of the marker.
  • Requests based on workload, financial hardship, or comparison with other students will not be considered.

How to apply

  1. Complete the online Review of an Assessment Grade Application Form.
  2. Include the following details in your application
    • Your full name
    • Student number
    • Subject code and subject name
    • Assessment name and number
    • A detailed explanation of the reason for your request
    • Any supporting evidence (if applicable)
  3. Submit your request within 10 business days of receiving your result.

After you apply

  • The Head of School (or delegate) will review your request and provide a written outcome within 3 business days.
  • The review may result in your grade being increased, decreased, or remain the same.
  • If you disagree with the decision, you may appeal under the Grievance & Appeals Policy within 10 business days of receiving your outcome.
