You can request a Canvas password reset if you are unable to log in to your account. Canvas passwords cannot be reset automatically, so you will need to contact the Student Experience Team for assistance. Once your identity is confirmed, your password will be reset and you will receive new login instructions by email. If you see a “Password incorrect” or “User not found” message when logging in, it usually means your Canvas password needs to be reset manually.
How to request a password reset
To reset your Canvas password:
- Select Submit a request
- Choose Canvas access or Password reset
- Enter your details and submit
After your request is received, we will reset your password and email you a new temporary password so you can log in to Canvas. You can change this password after you log in.
Troubleshooting before submitting
Try these steps before submitting a request:
- Make sure you are using your registered email address with Ikon
- Check your spam or junk folder for emails from Canvas
- If you recently updated your email address, contact the Student Experience Team to make sure your Canvas details are up to date
- Try logging out of all devices and logging in again after your password is reset
- If you are a new student, your Canvas access may not be active yet — please wait for the Canvas invitation email to create your account
