What is Sonder?
Sonder is Ikonβs 24/7 safety and wellbeing support service, available to students through a mobile app. Sonder connects you with trained professionals who can provide support for mental health, wellbeing, medical concerns, and personal safety β anytime, anywhere in Australia.
You do not need to wait for a crisis to use Sonder.
What can Sonder help with?
Sonder provides support for:
- mental health and emotional wellbeing
- stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed
- medical concerns or health advice
- personal safety situations and feeling unsafe
- urgent wellbeing support
- coordination of emergency services and in-person response when required

How do I get access to Sonder?
Step 1 β Check your student email
After enrolment, you will receive an email invitation titled βWelcome to Sonderβ in your Ikon student email inbox.
Step 2 β Download the Sonder app
Download the Sonder app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 3 β Activate your account
Activate your Sonder account using your Ikon student email address, then follow the prompts to verify your details and set up access.

Your privacy matters
Sonder is a confidential service. Ikon provides Sonder with limited details to enable access (such as your name and student email). Sonder does not share your personal information with Ikon unless:
- you provide consent, or
- disclosure is required by law.
Using Sonder will not affect your academic progress, enrolment, or visa status. View their Privacy Policy for details.
Didnβt receive your invitation?
If you cannot find your Sonder invitation email:
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Confirm your enrolment is complete and your student email is active
- Allow time for invitations to be issued after enrolment
If you still cannot locate the invitation, contact the Student Experience Team for assistance.
