If a possible breach of academic integrity is identified, Ikon follows a fair and confidential investigation process. You’ll be notified in writing, given the opportunity to respond, and informed of the decision and possible outcomes. Penalties depend on whether the misconduct is minor or major.
Investigation process
- The concern is reviewed by the lecturer or marker.
- The student is notified in writing and may respond.
- The Head of School (or delegate) determines the outcome.
- The student receives a written decision with appeal options.
Possible outcomes

- Reduced grade or fail for the task.
- Suspension or exclusion for repeated or major misconduct.
