Generally, applications for reasonable adjustment are submitted during a student’s initial enrolment; however, you can apply at any time during your studies.
If you wish to apply for a reasonable adjustment, please follow the steps outlined below:
- Complete the Form: Fill out the Request for Reasonable Adjustment online form and attach any relevant supporting documents that detail the additional support you need.
- Initial Review: The Student Experience Team (SET) will review your application for completeness. They may consult with relevant academics or administrative staff to assess your specific learning or assessment needs.
- Interview Process: You will be interviewed by the Head of School (or their nominee). During this meeting, advice may be sought from professionals to determine the appropriate adjustments required before finalising your application.
- Personalised Learning Plan: If necessary, a meeting will be arranged with you and the Education Team (or Academic Team?) to discuss your application and create a personalised learning plan.
- Annual Review: Your learning plan will be reviewed by the Education Team (or Academic Team?) at least once a year, or sooner if there are changes in your circumstances. If your needs remain unchanged, the plan will only be reviewed when adjustments are necessary.
- Notify Changes: If your situation changes during your course of study, please inform the SET (or Education Team or Academic Team?) as soon as possible.
- Communication of Needs: Where appropriate, SET may share your additional needs with relevant academics or administrative staff to facilitate necessary support.
- Appeals Process: If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your application, you may appeal according to the Grievance and Appeals Policy.
